The size of a printer is often referred to as it's 'footprint'. Actually a printer's footprint is a measure of its width and depth, rather than its total bulk. The question to ask yourself is whether, with all its paper trays extended, the printer will fit comfortably on your desktop. You will need about four inches of ventilation on each side.
